Work-life and work-family relationships are undergoing dramatic transformation in our society. New technology such as cell phones and text messaging, changing social norms and work and family structures, have led to an unprecedented era of blurring of boundaries between work and home. Many individuals across the economic strata are feeling some form of work-family conflict and stresses, though it may look and feel different depending on one's job, personal and family demographics, and the organizational or cross-cultural context in which one is embedded. This website provides current and scholarly work-life content based on the research and teaching of Professor Ellen Ernst Kossek, who is a leading researcher on managing work-life, work-family, diversity, and new flexible ways of working in transforming organizations.
Her research has been funded by The Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, The National Institute of Occpational Safety and Health, the Gerber Foundation, the State of Michigan Research Excellence funds, and many private corporations, among other sources. Find out more about Ellen Kossek.
